talking squirrel coming up to shake hands with you might
make you feel a little nervous. One with a cone on his
head would flip you over the edge. I think we can safely
say goodbye to the Inspector.
The beaming
Professor T winks at Cordelia and, with cone on head,
re-enters Whoops. He was going to purchase G.
manicata if it killed him. He sits in front of the
cat and smiles happily.

One of the badger guards delivers a
sealed, number ten envelope from the Institution to Dr.
Elkae. She takes it gratefully, slides a finger under
the flap and extracts the enclosed
letter.
Dear Dr. Knutsson,
In spite of
your recent legal difficulties, I would like to express
my utmost confidence in you and your capabilities. I
hope you will return to the Institution as soon as your
release is secured.

Card
Elkae looks at the business card and sees
it has her name and new title on it. She
smiles.
Just to be on the
safe side, FM checked his Relto book again. What Badger
mischief was this? Having the others check theirs, they
found that all of their Relto linking books had the same
problem.
Where before there had been pictures of
their Relto's or pictures of other links they had
inserted, now they were all muddy swirls of black. The
badgers had managed to disable all links out of the
badger age. You could link in, but you could not link
out.
If you listened very carefully, off in the
distant, to the sound of rattles and drums, you could
hear a chant. "Badger! Badger! Badger!"
Ronda links in and does a quick dance in
the fountain. Seeing that WHOOPS is up and running, she
decides to go down to the garden first, thereby saving
the more interesting exploration of the new shop till
last. Much like eating the cake first and the frosting
second...
Also having just eaten a chocolate chip
cookie from Togos, she doesn't go immediately to the
DISCO for newtons, either.
Down in the garden,
she is stopped by the sight of Urudawg and...the
ornament.
Ronda looks at Urudawg. Urudawg
